During the summer and fall of 2004, Halifax North Memorial Public Library was refurbished and the grounds outside the library landscaped as part of a Capital District Project. This project marks the first complete refurbishment since the branch opened 40 years ago.

Sadly, after 40 years weathering the elements, the sculpture was damaged beyond repair. As part of the changes to the front of the library the sculpture was removed.

Halifax North Memorial Public Library continues as a living memorial honouring the victims of the explosion by its ongoing service to the community. « back
